However, a local ordinance or code may not conflict with the Southern Nevada District BOH SWMR. ‘The North Las Vegas Public Works Department has mandated that the outdoor baler storage/staging area to the west of the existing recycling and processing center be covered to provide protection against rain and sun and to prevent contamination. A Letter of Intent and a Community Development and Compliance Application was submitted to the North Las Vegas Community Development Planning and Zoning Commission on September 11, 2014. Application was submitted for a 75° by 90’ metal building addition with an open west end. This metal addition will allow for the covering of the entire outdoor processing area, which will allow protection for recyclable materials awaiting processing as well as protection for the baler storage/staging areas. A Setback Variance is requested to obtain approval for a variance to allow a 14 foot front setback where a 20 foot setback is required. The North Las Vegas Planning Commission is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 to hear the variance request, followed by a meeting with the North Las Vegas City Council on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.
