Jordanian Tawjihi Equivalency

Jordanian Tawjihi Equivalency is required by all students wishing to study at Jordanian Universities and those
wishing to work in Jordan at some future date. The requirements for this are:

Complete 12 years of schooling

Pass at least 6 IGCSE or GCSE subjects. Pass Grades are A, B, C and D. For Arab
students including all Jordanians one subject must be First Language or
Classical Arabic
Pass at least 2 'A' Level Subjects. Pass Grades are A, B, C, D and E

Students can choose from 2 streams at Advanced Level.

Scientific
Stream
6 GCSE and IGCSEs must include
2 science subjects and Arabic

6 GCSE and IGCSEs must include

ICT, Maths and Arabic

For Arab students including all

Jordanians Arabic must be First
Language or Classical Arabic

For Arab students including all

Jordanians Arabic must be First
Language or Classical Arabic

A' Level
1 A' Level in Maths or Physics
PLUS
1 A level in another science or 2 AS
in science subjects

Literary
Stream

A' Level
Arabic
PLUS
any literary subject or 2 AS in any
literay subject or 1 AS in a science
and 1 AS in a literary subject

ICT counts as a science at IGCSE and GCSE but only Advanced Computing is considered a Science
at A Level
All subjects not mentioned in the Scientific stream are regarded as Literary subjects
