1. The Crystal Clear Cell Phone Company (CCCPC) sent you a bill
for $532! You cant remember how many minutes you used but you
know they charge $0.50/ minutes. You also know that the CCCPC
charges a monthly fee of $7.00/month.
Solve the following Two-Step Equation to find how many
minutes you used.
Let m = # of minutes used during the month
0.50 m + 7 = 532

2. You are in charge of ordering the pizzas for Mrs.

Tokugawas Math Pizza Party. You know each pizza will be cut
into 6 large slices and there are 75 students. Each student will
get only 1 large slice and Mrs. Tokugawa will eat 3 large slices.
(She is a very hungry teacher.)
Solve the Two-Equation Equation below to calculate how many
pizzas you need to order.
Let p = # of pizzas
6 p 3 = 75

3. During your visit to California, you traveled by taxi from

the hotel to the beach. The taxi charged $1.75 per mile and a
fee of $3.00. If the total taxi fare to the beach was $15.25,
how many miles did you travel by taxi?
Solve the Two-Step Equation below to calculate how many
miles you traveled by taxi.
Let b = # miles the taxi traveled
1.75 b + 3 = 15.25

4. You love to rent bicycles at the Algebra Land Beach. The

Bike Shop charges $1.50 per hour plus a fee of $4.25 per day.
At the end of the day your bill was $11.75. How long did you
ride?
Solve the Two-Step Equation below to find out how many hours
you were riding the bicycle along the Algebra Land Beach.
Let h = # of hours you were riding
1.50 h + 4.25 = 11.75
