    Asanaspiringmusician,Idreamofsomedayhavingajobasanoboistinacriticallyacclaimed

    orchestra.IalsohopetoteachstudentswhomIcaninspireasmuchasmymentorshave
    inspiredme.TheColburnSchoolwouldhelpmeachievethesedreams.Theprogramconsists
    ofeverythingIcouldaskforinaconservatorysetting:uniqueorchestralopportunities,
    distinguishedfaculty,anestablishedrelationshipwithoneofthecountrystoporchestras,anda
    perfectlocationforthearts.
    MyinitialreasonforapplyingtotheColburnSchoolwasArianaGhezsnewappointmenttothe
    faculty.IhadtheincredibleopportunitytotakealessonwithherbeforemyauditionandIwas
    immediatelyinspiredbyhermusicality,musicianship,andmostimportantly,herteaching.After
    onlyonehourwithher,IfeltlikeIcomprehendedthesuggestionsthatshehadgivenmeandI
    couldseemyselflearningalotfromher.
    However,aftervisitingthecampus,IfoundevenmoreIlikedabouttheschool,especiallyits
    location.LosAngelesistheperfectplacetoreceiveanartisticeducationbecauseofthe
    networkingandperformanceopportunitiesavailabletothestudents,suchasattendingLos
    AngelesPhilharmonicconcertsorplayinginWaltDisneyHall.Iwouldlovetoattendaschool
    whereIcanreceiveanexceptionalmusiceducation.Iknowthatsuccessisachievablethrougha
    topnotchmusicaleducationandIstronglybelieveIwouldbesuccessfulattheColburnSchool.
