Reflection for Mod7: WebQuest

1. What? (Describe the artifact)

This is a Webquest in the form of a PowerPoint. It is an inquiry-oriented
lesson format in which most or all the information that learners work with comes
from the web. These can be created using various programs, including a simple
word processing document that includes links to websites. My WebQuest
incorporates Math concepts with sports. It has students find a baseball player for
the Akron Rubber Ducks using their batting averages.
2. So what? (What is the significance of the artifact for you as a learner and as a
teacher)
This is significant for me as a learner because I had never heard of a
WebQuest before. This artifact has taught me how to use WebQuests and also how
to create my very own. This is significant for me as a teacher because I can now use
WebQuests in my classroom to help teach my students using the web.
3. What next? (How will you use this knowledge, skill in the future as a learner and
teacher)
As a learner I will continue to get familiar with WebQuests so that one day I
can have lessons that incorporate WebQuests that I will use as a teacher. As a
teacher I will use WebQuests as a different form of assessment.
