Quiet Time
Well its Saturday morning. You either slept on the floor, on a couch, air
mattress, or on your friend. Whatever you slept on, or wherever you slept,
you are here. Here at Prayer Retreat weekend. Here with your friends. Here
to come to the Throne of God. Let that last phrase settle in you. Let it settle
on you. We are here this weekend to really get to know what God has in
store for us.

Right now, sit and listen to what is going on around you. You might be
hearing birds, wind, waves rolling in and out from the lake, and maybe even
a car every now and then. Its pretty amazing what we hear when we stop
and listen to the everyday things around us. When was the last time that you
really stopped and listened to Gods voice? Last night? Yesterday? Last
week? Last month? Life can be pretty chaotic and loud much of the time.
During this time, really try to tune out your surroundings and tune in to
what God has to say to you. Before you begin, pray, and prepare your heart
for this. Be open to Him if this is a time where He wants to speak to you
personally.

Do you remember a guy name Noah? What about another guy named
Jonah? These two men are examples of men who either did or did not listen
to Gods voice. Lets take a quick look at these men and how they chose to
listen to Gods voice.

Turn in your Bible to Genesis 6:9 7:5. Have you ever wondered why
God chose Noah out of everybody on Earth? Look at verse 9 in chapter six.
Noah was a righteous man, and he had a close fellowship with God. When
we are walking with the Lord wholeheartedly, and we are obeying what God
says to us, we will more than likely hear his voice. It can be crystal clear to
us, or even in the quiet whisper. Before we move on, go ahead and look at
the very last verse in this passage. It says, Noah did everything the Lord
commanded him. Woah Noah. Everything? Nothing held Noah back because
of that close fellowship that he had with God. Noah trusted God in His plan
because Noah knew that there was something better lying ahead.
Take a moment and think. What is holding you back fro
wholeheartedly walking with God? Sit and ponder on that. Write something
down. Pray about that.

Quiet Time

Now go look at the story of Jonah. Jonah wasnt some random guy that
God chose to go speak to the people of Nineveh. Jonah was a prophet who
knew that God was capable of doing whatever He wanted. God told Jonah to
Go. Go tell the people of Nineveh and their wrong-doings, and then tell them
about my message of love and compassion. Thats what God wanted Jonah to
do. Often times we forget that when God speaks to us, He is going to take us
out of our comfort zone. How does that make you feel? Uncomfortable? Well,
it should. Its okay to feel uncomfortable. Especially when God has you where
He needs you to be. If you need to read those last two sentences again, go
ahead and do that. Has God placed you somewhere you feel uncomfortable?
Has that helped grow you as a Christian? Has it grown your faith?

Go turn to Romans 5:1-5 in your bible. When we listen to God, we will
also have a peace within us knowing that we are in His plan. No matter the
trials or temptations that come our way, we will always be in the palm of His
hand. Where do you want God to lead you? Are you willing to let go and to let
God?

Before we end, turn quickly to Psalms 46:10. What does that first line
say? Be still. What does that second line say? Know that I will be honored
throughout the nations and the world. Remember to take time and to be still
in the little moments. Know that God is there. Know that He is alive and
within you. Also remember how big YOUR God is. Look at all that He can do
for you.

Take some time, and use this time to pray. Pray that you are willing to
listen to Gods voice. Pray that you will be sensitive to the quiet times that you
are provided this weekend. Ask God to help you to be still and know that He is
God. Take this time to honor Him, and to show a moment of weakness before
Him. Know that He will gently pick you up, and hold you.

Because He Lives
(Verse 1)
God sent his son
They called him Jesus
He came to love
Heal and forgive
He lived and died
To buy my pardon
An empty grave
Is there to prove
My Savior lives
(Chorus)
Because he lives
I can face tomorrow
Because he lives
All fear is gone
Because I know
He holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because he lives
(Verse 2)
How sweet to hold
A newborn baby
And feel the pride
And joy he gives
But greater still

The calm assurance

This child can face
Uncertain days
Just Because he lives
(Chorus)
(Verse 3)
And then one day
I'll cross the river
I'll fight life's final war with pain
And then as death
Gives way to victory
I'll see the lights
Of glory and
I'll know he lives
(Chorus 2xs)

Love Came Down

If my heart is overwhelmed
And I cannot hear Your voice
I hold on to what is true
Though I cannot see
If the storms of life they come
And the road ahead gets steep
I will lift these hands in faith
I will believe
I'll remind myself
Of all that You've done
And the life I have
Because of Your son
[Chorus]
Love came down and rescued me
Love came down and set me free
I am Yours
Lord I'm forever Yours
Mountains high or valley low
I sing out and remind my soul
I am Yours
I am forever Yours

When my heart is filled with hope

Every promise comes my way
When I feel Your hands of grace
Rest upon me
Staying desperate for You, God
Staying humble at Your feet
I will lift these hands in praise
I will believe
I'll remind myself
Of all that You've done
And the life I have
Because of Your son
Love came down and rescued me
Love came down and set me free
I am Yours
I am forever Yours
Mountains high or valley low
I sing out and remind my soul
I am Yours
I am forever Yours
I am Yours
I am Yours
All my days
Jesus, I am Yours
[x2]

Love came down and rescued me

Love came down and set me free
I am Yours
I am forever Your's
Mountains high or valley low
I sing out and remind my soul
I am Yours
I am forever Yours
[x2]
Yeah, I am yours, I'm yours, I am yours
Jesus I am yours

This Is Amazing Grace

[Verse 1:]
Who breaks the power of sin and darkness
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger
The King of Glory, the King above all kings
Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
Who leaves us breathless in awe and wonder
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

[Chorus:]

This is amazing grace

This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You would lay down Your life
That I would be set free
Jesus, I sing for
All that You've done for me

[Verse 2:]

Who brings our chaos back into order

Who makes the orphan a son and daughter
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

Who rules the nations with truth and justice

Shines like the sun in all of its brilliance
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

[Bridge:]
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave

I Love You Lord

I love you, Lord
And I lift my voice
To worship You
Oh, my soul, rejoice!
Take joy my King
In what You hear
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
In Your ear
I love you, Lord
(I love you, Lord)
And I lift my voice
(And I lift my voice)
To worship You
(To worship You)
Oh, my soul, rejoice!
(Oh, my soul)
Take joy my King
(Take joy my King)
In what You hear
(In what You hear)
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
(Let it be a sweet sound)
In Your ear

I love you, Lord

And I lift my voice
To worship You
Oh, my soul, rejoice!
Take joy my King
In what You hear
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
In Your ear
I love you, Lord
(I love you, Lord)
I love you, Lord
(I love you, Lord)
(And I lift my voice)
I love you, Lord
(Take joy my King)
(Take joy my King)
I love you, Lord
(I love you, Lord)
I love you, Lord
(Let it be a sweet, sweet sound)

All The Poor And Powerless

All the poor and powerless
And all the lost and lonely
All the thieves will come confess
And know that You are holy
And know that You are holy
And all will sing out
Hallelujah
And we will cry out
Hallelujah
All the hearts who are content
And all who feel unworthy
And all who hurt with nothing left
Will know that You are holy
And all will sing out
Hallelujah
And we will cry out
Hallelujah
Shout it
Go on scream it from the mountains
Go on and tell it to the masses
That He is God
We will sing out
Hallelujah
And we will cry out Hallelujah

Come, Thou Fount of every blessing

Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandring from the face of God;
He, to save my soul from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.
O to grace how great a debtor
Daily Im constrained to be!
Let that grace, Lord, like a fetter,
Bind my wandring heart to Thee.
Teach me, Lord, some rapturous measure,
Meet for me Thy grace to prove,
While I sing the countless treasure
Of my Gods unchanging love.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it;
Prone to leave the God I love:
Take my heart, oh, take and seal it
With Thy Spirit from above.
Rescued thus from sin and danger,
Purchased by the Saviors blood,
May I walk on earth a stranger,
As a son and heir of God.

Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now
So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders

Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

[x6]

I will call upon Your Name

Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine

At The Cross
Oh Lord You've searched meYou know my way
Even when I fail youI know You love me
Your holy presence,
Surrounded meIn every seasonI
know You love meI know You love me
At the cross I bow my knees
Where Your blood was shed for me
There's no greater love than this
You have overcome the grave
Glory fills the highest place
What can separate me now
You go before meYou shield my way
Your hand upholds meI know You love me
At the cross I bow my knees
Where Your blood was shed for me
There's no greater love than this
You have overcome the grave

What can separate me now
At the cross I bow my knees
Where Your blood was shed for me
There's no greater love than this, no
You have overcome the grave
Glory fills the highest place
What can separate me now
You tore the veil, You made a way
When You said that it is done

You tore the veil, You made a way

When You said that it is done
And when the earth fails
Falls from my eyes
And You stand before meI know
You love meOh, I know You love me
At the cross I bow my knees
Where Your blood was shed for me
There's no greater love than this, no
You have overcome the grave
Glory fills the highest placeWhat can separate me now

One Thing Remains

Higher than the mountains that I face

Stronger than the power of the grave

Constant through the trial and the change

One thing Remains [repeat]
[Chorus:]

Your love never fails, never gives up

Never runs out on me [3x]

On and on and on and on it goes

It overwhelms and satisfies my soul

And I never, ever, have to be afraid
One thing remains
[Bridge:]

In death, In life, Im confident and

covered by the power of Your great love

My debt is paid, theres nothing that can

separate my heart from Your great love...
