Quiet Time
Well
its
Saturday
morning.
You
either
slept
on
the
floor,
on
a
couch,
air
mattress,
or
on
your
friend.
Whatever
you
slept
on,
or
wherever
you
slept,
you
are
here.
Here
at
Prayer
Retreat
weekend.
Here
with
your
friends.
Here
to
come
to
the
Throne
of
God.
Let
that
last
phrase
settle
in
you.
Let
it
settle
on
you.
We
are
here
this
weekend
to
really
get
to
know
what
God
has
in
store
for
us.
Right
now,
sit
and
listen
to
what
is
going
on
around
you.
You
might
be
hearing
birds,
wind,
waves
rolling
in
and
out
from
the
lake,
and
maybe
even
a
car
every
now
and
then.
Its
pretty
amazing
what
we
hear
when
we
stop
and
listen
to
the
everyday
things
around
us.
When
was
the
last
time
that
you
really
stopped
and
listened
to
Gods
voice?
Last
night?
Yesterday?
Last
week?
Last
month?
Life
can
be
pretty
chaotic
and
loud
much
of
the
time.
During
this
time,
really
try
to
tune
out
your
surroundings
and
tune
in
to
what
God
has
to
say
to
you.
Before
you
begin,
pray,
and
prepare
your
heart
for
this.
Be
open
to
Him
if
this
is
a
time
where
He
wants
to
speak
to
you
personally.
Do
you
remember
a
guy
name
Noah?
What
about
another
guy
named
Jonah?
These
two
men
are
examples
of
men
who
either
did
or
did
not
listen
to
Gods
voice.
Lets
take
a
quick
look
at
these
men
and
how
they
chose
to
listen
to
Gods
voice.
Turn
in
your
Bible
to
Genesis
6:9
7:5.
Have
you
ever
wondered
why
God
chose
Noah
out
of
everybody
on
Earth?
Look
at
verse
9
in
chapter
six.
Noah
was
a
righteous
man,
and
he
had
a
close
fellowship
with
God.
When
we
are
walking
with
the
Lord
wholeheartedly,
and
we
are
obeying
what
God
says
to
us,
we
will
more
than
likely
hear
his
voice.
It
can
be
crystal
clear
to
us,
or
even
in
the
quiet
whisper.
Before
we
move
on,
go
ahead
and
look
at
the
very
last
verse
in
this
passage.
It
says,
Noah
did
everything
the
Lord
commanded
him.
Woah
Noah.
Everything?
Nothing
held
Noah
back
because
of
that
close
fellowship
that
he
had
with
God.
Noah
trusted
God
in
His
plan
because
Noah
knew
that
there
was
something
better
lying
ahead.
Take
a
moment
and
think.
What
is
holding
you
back
fro
wholeheartedly
walking
with
God?
Sit
and
ponder
on
that.
Write
something
down.
Pray
about
that.
Quiet Time
Now
go
look
at
the
story
of
Jonah.
Jonah
wasnt
some
random
guy
that
God
chose
to
go
speak
to
the
people
of
Nineveh.
Jonah
was
a
prophet
who
knew
that
God
was
capable
of
doing
whatever
He
wanted.
God
told
Jonah
to
Go.
Go
tell
the
people
of
Nineveh
and
their
wrong-doings,
and
then
tell
them
about
my
message
of
love
and
compassion.
Thats
what
God
wanted
Jonah
to
do.
Often
times
we
forget
that
when
God
speaks
to
us,
He
is
going
to
take
us
out
of
our
comfort
zone.
How
does
that
make
you
feel?
Uncomfortable?
Well,
it
should.
Its
okay
to
feel
uncomfortable.
Especially
when
God
has
you
where
He
needs
you
to
be.
If
you
need
to
read
those
last
two
sentences
again,
go
ahead
and
do
that.
Has
God
placed
you
somewhere
you
feel
uncomfortable?
Has
that
helped
grow
you
as
a
Christian?
Has
it
grown
your
faith?
Go
turn
to
Romans
5:1-5
in
your
bible.
When
we
listen
to
God,
we
will
also
have
a
peace
within
us
knowing
that
we
are
in
His
plan.
No
matter
the
trials
or
temptations
that
come
our
way,
we
will
always
be
in
the
palm
of
His
hand.
Where
do
you
want
God
to
lead
you?
Are
you
willing
to
let
go
and
to
let
God?
Before
we
end,
turn
quickly
to
Psalms
46:10.
What
does
that
first
line
say?
Be
still.
What
does
that
second
line
say?
Know
that
I
will
be
honored
throughout
the
nations
and
the
world.
Remember
to
take
time
and
to
be
still
in
the
little
moments.
Know
that
God
is
there.
Know
that
He
is
alive
and
within
you.
Also
remember
how
big
YOUR
God
is.
Look
at
all
that
He
can
do
for
you.
Take
some
time,
and
use
this
time
to
pray.
Pray
that
you
are
willing
to
listen
to
Gods
voice.
Pray
that
you
will
be
sensitive
to
the
quiet
times
that
you
are
provided
this
weekend.
Ask
God
to
help
you
to
be
still
and
know
that
He
is
God.
Take
this
time
to
honor
Him,
and
to
show
a
moment
of
weakness
before
Him.
Know
that
He
will
gently
pick
you
up,
and
hold
you.
Because He Lives
(Verse 1)
God sent his son
They called him Jesus
He came to love
Heal and forgive
He lived and died
To buy my pardon
An empty grave
Is there to prove
My Savior lives
(Chorus)
Because he lives
I can face tomorrow
Because he lives
All fear is gone
Because I know
He holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because he lives
(Verse 2)
How sweet to hold
A newborn baby
And feel the pride
And joy he gives
But greater still
[Chorus:]
[Verse 2:]
[Bridge:]
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
