SLOVENIA

There are many sports that people in Slovenia do, such as skiing,
cycling, ice hockey and athletics. The most popular sport to play
and to watch is soccer, followed by basketball, volleyball and
tennis.
We are very proud of Slovenian athletes, individuals and teams,
such as the basketball team, soccer team, and the ice hockey
team.

The Slovenian men's national ice hockey team, also

known as The Lynxes got as far as the quarterfinals at
Sochi olimpics. A wonderful debut!.

TINA MAZE
The most successful female ski racer in Slovenian history and nominated the
best athlete of the world for 2013. She has won races in all six disciplines in one
season.

Two gold medals at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Awarded the title of the best female athlete of the year in Slovenia for 2005,
2010, 2011 and 2013.
Four Olympic medals tie her with rower Iztok op as the most successful athlete
representing Slovenia at the Olympics.
Slovenians are very proud to have a woman with so many awards.

TINA MAZE
She is also very attractive and is a face for jewelery
and chocolate addvertisements. She was even in
Armani ads.

Professional ice hockey center player
Alternate captain of the Los Angeles Kings
His team won Stanley cup twice
Most popular player award in 2007 and 2011, best desensive
player award in 2011 and 2013, and many more awards.

People in Slovenia love Ane and his great ice hockey skills.

Slovenian hammer thrower
His personal best and slovenian best record is 82.58 metres, achieved in September
2009 in Celje, Slovenia.
He has got 3 golden medals. (Olympic Games, World Championship and Military World
Games.
Primo is an amazing athlete know for his hammer throwing skills, and Slovenia is also
very proud.
