The main purpose of this reading is so that it can help you analyze your data from your
interview, surveys, and observations so that you can implement it into the first draft of your
research paper. They use something called a memorandum that helps you put your status of your
progress. I think this is very helpful because it will help me put all my ideas together rather than
scattered all over my research paper. This reading also tells you was of data collecting for your
observations and surveys. The way of collecting data for your observations is called preliminary
work which is the process of rereading your data and making notes on it. The way of collecting
data for surveys is called coding and this is the process tabulating and speculating.
