the music and if so where do they recognize it. Talk
about the days lesson. Talk about the Nutcracker Ballet
and Tchaikovsky.

Lesson Sequence
Hand out listening worksheets. Explain the instructions
of the activity. We will listen to the examples and discuss
the answers after.
Play the first listening example (The Nutcracker March). I
will guide them through if the music is soft or loud, etc.
Play the second listening example (The Dance of the
Sugar Plum Fairy).

Play the third listening example (The Waltz of the

Flowers).
Play the fourth example (The Waltz of the Snowflakes).
After, we will have a final discussion about the
Nutcracker.
We will then sing our songs for Thanksgiving, including
Thanksgiving and Albuquerque.
The students will then learn Over The River by looking
at a packet. We will add an ostinato on jingle bells and
rhythm sticks to the song.
