access to nutritious food at an

Compotes dHaiti (LCH) will sell
five types of compotes made
from local fruits as baby food and
desserts for adults. It will process
fruits bought from local
producers, creating a reliable
demand and price level for their
produce.
The compote processing plant
will be in Saint Michel de
lAttalaye, which is close to the
location of the producers. The
quality of the baby food will be
ensured by frequent
microbiological tests on the
products.
LCHs sales representatives will
cover the immediate vicinity of
the processing centre as well as
the 10 departments of the
Republic of Haiti.
The price of the product will
target at par with of import
products

Recently introduced tariffs on


imports will further incentivize
customers to switch to local
producers, therefore contribute
towards the sales of LCHs
products.
In order to successfully sell their
products throughout the country,
LCH has also developed a unique
promotion strategy based on
testing and sampling events at
supermarkets, hospitals, and fairs.
Team: The multidisciplinary team
consists of agronomist engineers
who all are highly experienced in
business development and project
managers with substantial
experience in sustainable rural
development.
Status: The $150,000 first tranche
financing will be used to initiate
semi-industrial production, create
awareness and bring the products
to the markets.
