1. What are some intangible benefits you would receive if you decided to join the
military? (your own words please!)
Joining the military teaches lifelong discipline and determination while providing for
your health and education.

2. Describe the following Military Benefits: (your own words please!)


a. Job Training
Trained in a job specialty that requires aptitude of physical abilities, determination, and
motivation to choose the military job in the future.

b. Money for College


Many programs including The Post-9/11 GI Bill, Loan Repayment Programs, and
Tuition Assistance provide for schooling because the military wants all students to thrive
and succeed.
c. Pay Allowances and Promotions
Servicemen are paid two times each months depending on their work and service in
college. Promotions are given based on physical and knowledge performance.
d. Health Care
All servicemen receive free health care in the military and civilian facilities as well as
their family can enrol in the health care for a small fee.
e. Vacation
Receive 30 days of paid vacation days with free to little cost on military aircraft.

money being there when retiring.

The military pays for college after committing to a period of time to the military with an
average commitment of 4 years.

4. Describe one option for each:


a. Before military service - Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) a
program that prepares the students to become a military officer that fully
pays college education and guarantees a post-college career.
b. During military service - Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC)
Servicemembers gain education while serving and include your own
degree plan.
c. After military service Post 9/11 GI Bill a program that provides for
servicemen after 15 years that includes College tuition and fees payment,
Housing allowance, and Allowance for books and supplies ($1,000 per
year) for their families.

5. Find a military career using your Holland Code. If you dont remember your
Holland Code you can find it by going to WisCareers and looking at the results
for the PGI or the Interest Profiler. (3 careers one for each letter of your code)
