Oct 30th 2014

English is one of international language which is really important to be learnt. As a
college student, we have to understand English. One method for learning English is gamebased learning. Learning English with game makes the learning process more fun. I can
understand the lesson in enjoyable condition. I am not pressed with many English lessons
which are sometimes making me confuse. Learning English with game also can develop my
communication and social-skills.
On Thursday October 30th 2014, my friend and I were learning English with games.
We were divided into some groups. My group played snake and ladder games which is
combined by express our opinion in every turn we get. We had to give opinion about our
preferences and our experience. During the games, I had to speak English and I was not
allowed to speak Indonesian. So, I had difficulties to say anything and to understand what
others say. Although we still have difficulties, we still enjoy our games. My friend and I also
play detective games. My role was become a detective who had to ask many questions to my
friend. It was really interesting and challenging. I like learning with games because it doesnt
boring and make the time pass by quickly.

Reflection
Nov 6th 2014
This day November 6th 2014, I studied English in my class. The lesson was about
improving speaking skill. Miss Nias taught the lesson by using method game-based learning
again. We were divided into six groups which was every group consist of 5 person. This day
game was detective game. We asked to solve a murder case. In this game, we were given
some clue papers to help us do the game. And of course we had to speak English during the
game.
In this game, we had to guess the murder that killed Mr.Crabtree. We solved the case
by collected many clues and made a timeline. We discussed it until finally it can be solved.
Because of difficulties to discuss with English, sometimes we used Indonesian. After the case
was solved, we must present it in front of the class. Miss Nias said that although we still have
difficulties of speaking English, but this day we improved our English than last Thursday.
