1. The circuit parameters of the diff-amp shown in Figure 1 are V+ = 3V, V = 3V, IQ = 0.40mA, and
RD = 7.5k. The transistor parameters are VTN = 0.5V, kn = 100A/V2, and = 0. Design the
transistor W/L ratio such that the differential voltage gain is Ad = 12.
2. The diff-amp in Figure 1 is biased at IQ = 100A. The transistor parameters are kn =100A/V2 and
W/L = 10. (a) If the output resistance of the current source is Ro = 1M, determine the common-mode
rejection ratio CMRR(dB). (b) Determine the required value of Ro such that CMRR(dB) = 80dB

3. The bias voltages of the diff-amp shown in Figure 2 are V+ = 5V and V = 5V. The threshold
voltage of each transistor is VTN = 0.4V and assume = 0. Let Kn3 = Kn4 = 0.20mA/V2. (a) Design
the circuit such that IQ = 0.25mA when V1 = V2 = 0. (b) If V1 = V2 = 0 and Kn1 = Kn2 = 0.120mA/V2,
find V01 V02when (i) RD1 = RD2 =15k and (ii) RD1 =14.5k, RD2 = 15.5k. (c) Repeat part (b) for Kn1 =
0.125mA/V2 and Kn2 = 0.115mA/V2.
4. For the given figure 2 consider for M4 transistor = 0.01 V-1 . consider all other parameters to e same
as example 3. Find out Ad, Acm and CMRR

5. Consider the circuit shown in Figure 3. The circuit and transistor parameters are V+ = +3 V, V = 3
V, RD = 360 k, IQ = 12A, VTP = 0.4V, Kp = 30A/V2, and = 0. The output resistance of the
current source is Ro=4M. (a) Determine the Q-points of the transistors for V1 = V2 = 0. (b)
Determine the differential- and common-mode voltage gains for (i) VO = VD1VD2 and (ii) VO = VD2.
