THE NO FLY ZONE

FLY BAIT RECIPE:

1 X 5 liter empty plastic bottle (Coke or Milk)
A sachet(50gm) fly bait Powder (fishmeal base) these are under the name of Red Tp or Interfix or
Mantas and available at PnP, Checkers, Spar, Agri Co-ops etc
1 sachet (20gm) Brewers Yeast (also available at the above stores)
2 tbsp sugar (or molasses)
Warm water
Syringe (50ml but 20ml is also good)
Method:

Pour sachets of Bait and yeast into 5 l bottle

Add sugar
Fill with warm water
Allow to stand and mature for at least 4 days(leave lid a bit loose as gas will build up be sure to allow
this to escape)

THEN:
Daily (or when bait in trays is finished/dry)
Fill a syringe with mix (50-100ml) and squirt into bait dishes /bowls. ( It is helpful to put a plastic pipe
(about 20 cm ) on the end of the syringe in order to get the mix to the bait tray with ease)

NOTE: FLIES REQUIRE MOISTURE TO SURVIVE. IN THE HOT

SUMMER MONTHS PRODUCTS CONTAINING HIGH MOISTURE
(WATER) LEVELS WILL ATTRACT FLIES (EVEN WATERING THE
GRASS ON HOT SUMMER DAYS ATTRACTS FLIES) Flies go INTO
stables when it is hot outside FLY MANAGEMENT DOES NOT HAPPEN ON ITS OWN IT DOES
REQUIRE SOME INPUT .
