Conclusion
BBC focuses more on National News Remembrance Day, and the other
news items were largely national with only one international story. Heavily
about national news, reporting live from the Tower of London. Positive as its
patriotic. A good impact as it shows unity within the nation, and showed
different areas of the UK and how they remembered with different
ceremonies.
Channel 4 focused more on the international news of Ebola, along with a
sunken ferry in China (homicides), an Australian who has been jailed in Egypt.
Reporting live from Tower of London but saying metaphors about the poppies
to the relevant story. As an hour long programme each report is longer. Not
new news. Repetitive, reporting on existing stories. Not much impact as it is
repeated, and as it was remembrance day people more likely would of wanted
more coverage of the events going on around the country.
On Remembrance Day we would say that International News isnt as
newsworthy.
