    Eastern North Carolina will be bringing one of the most distinguished actors of the entertainment
    industry to our region this spring. Christine Baranski (pictured above) is the latest of prominent
    figures to come speak at the Power of the Purse grand event hosted by the Women for Women
    organization of Pitt County. Baranski has starred in Broadway, film, and television for years,
    earning an Emmy and two Tony Awards. The Women for Women group is a non-profit
    organization comprised of women who are committed to becoming effective philanthropists
    through the power of giving. Baranskis philanthropy efforts range from her associations with
    City Meals-on-Wheels in NYC, Cancer research for women, Opera Company at the Lincoln
    Center, HIV/Aids, and Breast Cancer. The 10th annual Power of the Purse luncheon will be held
    May 6th, 2015 at the Greenville Convention Center.
