CONVERGENCE IN ICT

To make a good pot of soup, one must apply

different ingredients to get the right taste and
consistency. This concept applied to ICT is
known as convergence. A process whereby
several entities unify to produce a distinct new
system (EDTK2030: Unit 1, 2014).
Convergence is the erosion of boundaries
between digital media, telecommunications and
computer technology.

ICT can be an effective tool in the classroom.

For example, to explain the scientific concepts
of float and sink. Do the following;

Gather information from the Internet.

Create a power-point presentation.
Save presentation on a flash drive.
Using a lap top and projector present
information to the class.

Learning Objective
Children will be able to identify and
differentiate objects that can float
from those that sink.
