STAGE TECHNIQUE ASSIGNMENT

With a group of 2 or 3 students, you will create a short play that incorporates several of the following
stage techniques. The play should have a title page with the title and names of group members. Stage
directions should be in parentheses. It should be typed, and spelling should be excellent. ( Your
dinosaur teacher was an English teacher for ten years, in another life.) The play should be 5 to 7 minutes
in length. I have included a list of possible titles to choose from so that you might be inspired with ideas.

STEP ONE, DAY 1: 10 marks

Form your groups, and brainstorm ideas. There should be at least 3 ideas on your paper.

STEP TWO, DAY 2 AND 3: 20 marks

Create the initial draft of your play.
STEP THREE, DAY 4: 10 marks
Read and Revise your play
STEP FOUR, DAY 5: 20 marks
Read final, edited draft aloud
