Relationship between duration of hypertension and life quality

ABSTRACT
Background: Hypertension is one of the most influential risk factors on the
incidence of cardiovascular diseases. Hypertension often shows no symptoms, so
its only realized when it has cause organs dysfunction such as heart disease and
stroke. Frequently hypertension discovered accidentally during a routine medical
examination or come up with another complaint. Hypertension that is not handled
properly will become chronic and will lead to further complications, so as to
interfere with the patient's quality of life and productivity.
Objective: This study aimed to analyze the duration of hypertension with quality of
life.
Methods: Survey with observational analitic towards 96 respondents with
questionnaire. The data obtained were summarized and analyzed with normality
test thus, Pearson correlation test.
Results: There was a significant negative relationship between duration of
hypertension with a quality of life with p = 0.00 and correlation coefficient r = 0.73
Conclusion: The longer duration of hypertension, the worse quality of life would
