Youth Night

This replaces the High School Youth Rally.

We will be at St. Ambrose and stay with a
local parish overnight. Our keynote
speaker is Doug Tooke and our theme is
Heaven - An Unexpected Journey. Are
you a sheep or a goat? Which path will
lead you to Heaven? We will have small
group interaction, 3 breakout sessions, a
chance for Adoration/Confession, and a
time to hang out and play games. What a
great way to check out our diocesan Catholic college, St. Ambrose! Registrations
will be out in mid September. Parents, are
you willing to chaperone? Contact me!

Fall 2014

COMPREHENSIVE
YOUTH MINISTRY
I am implementing a Comprehensive Youth
Ministry Program within our parish. This is
what the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) call for in their document, Renewing the Vision A Framework
for Catholic Youth Ministry. It is an approach to minister to our youth that integrates
youth and families into the total life and mission of the parish. It recognizes that it takes
a whole village (the whole parish) to form
youth in faith and in life, and challenges faith
communities to use all of their resources for
this ministry.
Thank you to everyone who has said yes to
being on the Youth Ministry Planning Team.
We begin meeting this month to set vision
for our parish youth ministry, to assess our
youth ministry in light of this vision, and to
set goals and objectives to implement this
vision.
We will be asking for your input on what you
would like to see included in youth ministry
at St. Marys. Youth Ministry involves ALL
aspects of our youths participation within
our parish. It is youth and adults working
side by side with liturgy, social events,
religious education, youth ministry programs,
committees, service, fundraising, etc. Youth
have gifts that we need to use right now as
we build up the Kingdom of God. Please
keep the youth and our planning team members in your prayers.
Love & Blessings!
Diane
Let no one have contempt for your youth, but
set an example for those who believe, in speech,
conduct, love, faith, and purity -1 Timothy 4:12
