We are excited to announce that our classes will be going on a field trip to First
Landing State Park in Virginia Beach, Virginia! Recently in our science class, we
began a unit on ecosystems. The students are currently learning about habitats and
the organization of ecosystems. This trip will allow the students to observe the
science concepts discussed in class in a hands-on environment. The students will
be able to use prior knowledge of ecosystems as well while on our field trip. The
students will need to wear long pants and sneakers on this field trip due to the
outside habitats that we will be exploring. The students will also need to pack a
brown bag lunch if your child does not plan on buying a school bagged lunch.
In addition to this letter, we are sending home a permission slip with each student.
This form will need to be signed and returned by Friday December 12th, 2014 in
order for your child to be able to ride the bus and attend this field trip. We are
looking for chaperones to take on this trip in order to make sure this adventure runs
smoothly. If you are interested in attending the field trip as a chaperone, please
make a note at the bottom of the permission slip.
We hope you are just as excited about this field trip as we are, and look forward to
hearing from you soon!
Sincerely,
Ms. Smock, Ms. Brown, Ms. Bowen, Ms. Miller
