As a media professional I have great experience in the fields of journalism and radio/television.
I have a skillset in audio and video editing, advertising, journalistic writing, and broadcast
practicum. I have different experiences at different levels of news and writing positions. I have
a B.A. in Journalism from Stephen F. Austin State University with a minor in Kinesiology in
which I worked with Jonathon Quam, who was the head of mass communications. I worked as a
developers assistant for a news channel, KLNM TV, in Lufkin, TX for several months in which
I helped with selling advertisement and commercial spots to businesses. I also helped with the
creation of different show ideas. In addition, I created sound design for different producers and
directors. I was also a part-time host for the sports show East Texas Sports Machine for two
months in which I conducted interviews at sporting events and edited that footage for the airing
of the show. I have used numerous types of equipment from motion picture cameras to voice
recorders. I have mastered certain editing software such as: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign,
Audition CS6, Audacity, Final Cut Pro X, IMovie, and Windows Movie Maker. I truly believe I
am qualified enough to contribute and benefit to your organizations goals and objectives.
The main focus of my skills is on video and audio editing. I have participated in countless
projects in which I was head of video and audio editing. I also created a short film called The
Invitation in which I was in charge of directing, producing, and video and audio design. During
my time at KLNM, the head of advertisement asked me to help develop the footage for
commercials where I would use my skills to create dynamic and prolific advertising campaigns
for local businesses. In my experiences with the video editing software I have created countless
projects for ad campaigns and highlights for local athletes who want to excel in collegiate sports.
I can excel at any position with my all-around skill set and would only bring betterment to your
exemplary company.
