Mission
o To provide leadership and
partnership in the development and
implementation of practices that are
designed to recruit and retain a
highly qualified, engaged workforce
for the City of Fargo.
History
o Cass County Public Health is an
organization that was produced and
implemented years after the
establishment of Fargo. Fargo was
founded back in 1871, when the
settlers first staked homestead
where the Northern Pacific Railroad
would cross the Red River. In 1893,
the growing city experienced a fire
that destroyed most of the
downtown, but the city resolved to
rebuild itself. With the resolution to
rebuild itself, Fargo not only built a
physical town, but a governmental
system, with county programs, like
their public health services.
