What is the current state of the Rec. Center?

The current state of the recreational center is very poor and below many other university
institutions in quality. Many if not all of the staff members at the rec. center and all patrons can
agree that the rec. center needs a major over haul for many different reasons.

What benefits could come due to updates?

The benefits of having a better rec. center on campus are relatively endless. But the major points
that can be brought up are as follows:

More students becoming active

More non-student memberships
Better quality of work outs
Enticing to possible future students
Safer workout environment

What kind of upgrades would occur?

The upgrades that would occur should a proposal be passed through the
recreation centers staff and the universitys administration to acquire the funds
would be the following:
Expansion of total standing building
New exercise equipment
Pool updates
New features (i.e. Sauna)

Is there a real risk of injury with current equipment in the Rec.

Center?
There is a relative risk no matter what equipment is being used in any gym
regardless of age and face condition. However, the statistics show that the
older the equipment (pulley machines in particular) that the more a product is
used with higher age, the risk of injury due to equipment failure goes up
staggeringly each year. New equipment would reduce the risk of injury to
patrons at the rec. center substantially, as well as produce a better work out
experience at the rec. center.
