VisualkeibandAliceNinewasthelatestJapaneserockbandtogracethesunnyshoresofSingapore
when they took to the stage on June 28 at The Coliseum, Hard Rock Hotel. It was their first full
concerthere,partoftheirSUPERNOVASYMPHONIA2014worldtourmarkingtheir10 thanniversary.
This is their second visit to Singapore, the first being a short appearance during the Sundown
Festivalin2012.
TheintenseSingaporeheatcertainlydidntstoptheirfansenthusiasmasscoresofpeoplewereseen
queuingoutsidetheconcertvenueafewhourspriortothestart,allinhopesofgettingthebestview
theycouldoftheiridols.
Theatmosphere reacheda crescendowhenthe membersof AliceNine vocalistand leaderShou,
leadguitaristTora,secondguitaristHiroto,bassistSagaanddrummerNaowaltzedontothestage.
Withoutwastinganytime,theyplayedthreesongsfromtheirlatestalbum Shining,+andSeven.
Thebandmanagedtopleaseboththeirnewandolderfansbyplayingsongsfromtheircurrentand
earlieralbums. Theydrew araucous responsefrom thecrowd whenthey performed Kowloon Nine
HeadsRadioShow,atrackfromwaybackin2006.
Theycontinued toamaze thecrowd byflawlessly executingmany oftheir hitssuch as BluePlanet
andVelvet,eachshowcasingthestrengthsofeachofthemembers.Shoussmoothvocalswereably
accompaniedbytheslickandprecisestrummingbyToraandHiroto,whiletherhythmswerekeptby
NaoandSaga.Throughouttheconcert,AliceNinedrovetheirfansintoafrenzywiththeirconstant
fanservicemoments,actingoutvariousrelationshipswithinthebandthatanyfan,alsoknownas
aNumberSix,wouldrecognise.

After16 songs,the bandquicklyexited thestagebut thefans werentaboutto letthem go.They

cheeredandcheered,shoutingAnkoru,Ankoru!(encore)untilAliceNinestruttedbackonstage.
Before starting the music again, the band members tookthe opportunity to talk to the fans. Nao
certainlystolemanyheartswhenheexclaimedinstrongJapaneseaccentedEnglish:Myheartmy
heartmyheart,cannottakeit!Cannottakeit!

TheydeliveredShunkashuutouandTheBeautifulNameasthecrowdsangalong,poundingtheirlight
sticksand fistsintotheair, righttothelast moment,unwillingtolet thenightend.Some ofwere
evenreducedtotears.
Unfortunately,allgoodthingscometoanendandAliceNinehadtotakeabowaftertheirneartwo
hourperformance.However,theyhesitatedtoleavethevenueasmuchastheirfans,thankingtheir
audience profusely with Hirotosaying: Singapore, mata ai mashou (Singapore,lets meet again)!
