October

Here in Denmark October is the month were we have our autumn holiday. This year it started
Friday the tenth and ended Monday the twentieth. In keeping with the tradition we have the
sports day of the year the Friday before autumn holiday. All students of the school have to
participate in one of a few possible activities.

In October we also fly the flag for the United Nations, which is cooperation between several
countries. The exact date is the twenty-fourth and it is the same date as the date where it was
established in 1945 after the Second World War.
The last weekend in October is the time of the year where we switch from summertime to
wintertime. We change our watches and because it is wintertime it is one hour back in time.
