Stand up for Child Abuse

Imagine two children boy and girl standing right next to a wall scared.
The little girl grasping tightly to the doll while the boy just stands right next to
the girl. Fear reflects in their face. Their eyes are widely open. How would
you feel? The majority of children who suffer child abuse are affected for
life; child abuse has a domino effect on the child and child abuse victims
struggle through life. Child abuse is very diverse there are different types.
Physical, sexual and emotional are only some of them. But either of them
affects the child in a majorly way.
The majority of children who suffer child abuse are affected for life.
Imagine yourself being asleep in your room. It is fourb in the morning your
dad comes in to your room drunk and wakes you up, so that you can make
him company while he drinks. How would you feel? You are falling asleep in
the table, he takes off his belt and whips you as if you where a slave , just
because you are falling asleep. The belt marking your skin as if it were a
whip. Fear would be present in your face, the same exact thing as the
children in the picture. This picture uses majorly ethos and pathos, to reach

the purpose of this picture, which is child abuse prevention. The low light
and the colors black and gray set the mood of the picture which is sad,
gloomy, dull and trhe color black especially which means fear. Children who
suffer physical abuse find it difficult to make relationships with his peers and
adults , they usually have trouble learning, have poor physical health and
often lead to juvenile delinquency or adult criminality. (Citation)
Consequently not only are children marked for life, but the domino effect
takes place.
Child abuse has a domino effect in which the story repeats or where
the child because of what they suffered are marked for ever and this leads
them to be different and make mistakes. They carry flashbacks in their mind
and heart. They are depressed, unhappy and miserable. The Domino effect
because the child is misguided and lost. In effect this leads to high
alcoholism rates, problems in school, teen pregnancy, mental and emotional
confusion (Citation). The Children in the picture see things differently than
most of our children see. They see life in a more drastic and twisted
manner. They are living life at a fast pace, doing and seeing things that at
their age they should not be living. It does not matter what type of abuse
the child suffered, the domino effect will be present most of the time. Not
only does the domino effect occur but an abuse child has trouble evolving
through life.
Abused children have trouble getting past life. They get involved in
drugs, gangs and criminality. The psychologist Abraham Maslow wanted to
understand what motivated people in their life. Thought his studies he

determined that every human being has certain needs in order to fulfill their
lives or in order to be successful in life. There are 5 needs. Physiological
this is survival needs such as food, water, and shelter. Safety needs which
are protection, stability, order and freedom from fear. Next he determined
that this one is the most important and unique. Belonging, which includes
love from family, friends, or a group. Esteem needs which are goals, self
respect, independence and achievements. Last but not least is self
actualization which are personal goals, self fulfillment and personal growth.
This being said a person who is missing the first three is going o be difficult
for him to get past through because he needs the three first needs.
So it is clear that the majority of children who suffer from abuse are affected
for life, that there is a domino effect and that abused children have
difficulties to get through life.
