Fisher, Helen. Why we love, why we cheat. PsycEXTRA Dataset. Feb 2006. Lecture.
Helen Fisher is an anthropologist that studies love and its aspects. Its been said that she
is an expert in romantic love. In this particular lecture, she takes a psychology approach
to what love is, why we love, and why we cheat. She discussed it in terms of three parts
of the brain that is activated in romantic love. These three parts are love, lust, and
attachment. How love is so different from lust and how love leads to being attached. I
saw this video in my psychology class and was told that she has written many books and
has had lectures many times. Shes a very credible source because she has the
certifications and years of studying this particular subject. This lecture of hers will be
useful to me when I use parts of her videos to explain how love and lust are different in
terms of the R&B artists I have chosen to use in my paper. I am able to connect to this
lecture and her because we are both interested in the love factor of many things and it
makes it easier to draw connections in my paper.
Denzel, Rashaad. The Baby-Making Music Is Gone: Has Classic R&B Disappeared? Elite
Daily. Elite Daily, 9 Oct. 2013. Web. 12 Nov. 2014.
This article discusses how R&B music has changed throughout the generations and how
artists today are creating a new sound and look of R&B music. I found this article when I

searched up R&B music blogs on the internet. I stumbled upon Rashaad Denzels blog
showing all of his professional projects. He has worked professionally with musicians in
management as well as other organizations and businesses, making his work both
trustworthy and credible. This article will be useful to my essay because it explains how
R&B music has changed and that it isnt necessarily a bad thing. I am able to connect this
to my overall opinion to my issue and explain the ways that the R&B music industry has
changed the meaning of love throughout the years.
Gaye, Marvin. Lets Get it On. Tenor and a three-octave vocal range singer. Motown Records,
1973. CD
This song is about the romance and sexuality between him and a special woman. He is
trying to win her over with his romance and charm. I found this source when I was
looking for the lyrics to his song and is credible because it is the actual lyrics from his
own produced song. I am able to use his song as an example of the romance and sexuality
of a classic R&B song and compare it to a rather new artist.
Blake, John. Where is the Love in R&B Music? CNN. CNN, 3 Dec. 2011. Web. 10 Nov. 2014.
This article discusses how the appreciation for love and romance has died down
throughout the 20 plus years that had passed. I found this article while searching up key
terms on the internet and saw it under the CNN website. CNN is a highly respected and
trusted resource for news and that is why the article is both trustworthy and resourceful. I
am able to use this in my essay by using some of his resources and interviews to further
support my claim. I can use his sources of musical artists and personals within the music
label business and tie it into my essay of why the depiction of love has changed
throughout the years.

Brown, Chris. No Bulls**t. R&B singer from Virginia. Jive Records, 2011. CD.
This song by Chris Brown is about him wanting to have sexual contact with a woman at 3
in the morning because he is horny and just about everything that comes with having
sexual relations. I found this song when I searched it up for the lyrics. Since I do use the
actual lyrics from this song, its a notable and trustworthy resource. I plan to use this in
my essay when I explain how the depiction of love has changed in R&B or the newer
generation and how it differs from R&B music back in the day. It will really tie into my
claim that the meaning of love has drastically changed.
