Lab Session # 3:

Determine the Use of different extended surfaces for forced convection.

Apparatus:
Heat Convection Apparatus

Procedure:
1-Attach the Pinned Surface in apparatus and then switch on the fan for forced convection.
2-Allow the system to reach stability.
3-Record the base temperature at the particular specified velocity set using Anemometer and
also note the power of the heat source which is actually the heat transfer rate.
4-After taking the readings draw the graph of temperature v/s velocity and also temperature
v/s power.

Comments:
1- When air velocity increases the temperature difference will decrease.
2- If more power is supplied to the surface the temperature of surface will increase so
there is direct relationship between them.
3- The temperature sensor is not working properly.
4- There are some human errors also.
