Anecdotal Observation

It is nine-thirty on Wednesday morning, December 3, 2014, in the Snap Dragon Room at Bee
Balm Learning Center LLC. Clover, an 18 month year old, is sitting on the floor, with two
cordless keyboards, and 2 other friends. Clover watches the girl next to her as she pushes the
buttons on one of the keyboards. She then looks at her keyboard and starts to push the buttons
as well. As Clover and the other girl sit on the floor, pushing the buttons on the keyboard, the
third girl looks interested and moves closer to Clover and the keyboard. Clover looks over at the
other girl, and makes a loud Ugh. Clover then stands up, picks up the keyboard, and moves
over closer to the library. She sits down with the keyboard and starts to push the buttons again.
The other girl comes over and sits next to Clover again. The other girl tries to take the keyboard
from Clover, and Clover pulls it away. The third girl walks over by Clover and the other girl, and
drops the second keyboard at the other girls feet, and walks away. The other girls picks up the
keyboard, sits down and immediately starts to push the buttons, smiling. Clover looks over at
the other girl, smiles and continues to press the buttons on the keyboard.
