Anecdotal Observation
It is ten-thirty on Wednesday morning, December 3, 2014, in the Snap Dragon room at Bee
Balm Learning Center LLC. Addilyn, a 17 month year old, is sitting at the small wooden table,
with a baby doll and a small fleece blanket. Addilyn takes the small fleece blanket, puts it over
the baby doll, covering it completely. Addilyn then pats the baby and says Shhhh. Addilyn
stands up from the small wooden table and chair, picks up the covered baby doll, and walks it
over to the yellow wooden cradle. Addilyn bends over and places the baby doll, covered with a
blanket, into the yellow wooden cradle. Addilyn then walks away. As Addilyn walks away,
another girl walks over and reaches out to pick up the baby doll from the crib. Addilyn turns
around and notices that other girl is taking the baby doll out of the crib. Addilyn walks over,
pulls the wrapped up baby doll out of the other girls hands and says My baby. The other girl
sits down on the carpet and begins to cry. Addilyn looks at the other girl who is crying, and then
walks away. Addilyn walks back over to the small wooden table and chair, and sits down with
the wrapped up baby doll. She begins to pat the baby doll and says Shhhh. Miss Jerra comes
over to the other girl, who is crying, and shows her where there are other baby dolls, in home
living. She hands the other girl a baby doll. The other girls takes the baby doll that Miss Jerra
has given her, smiles and says, Baby.
