Dear
New
Line
Cinema,
I
am
an
8th
grade
student
at
Del
Mar
Middle
School
and
I
recently
finished
the
book
your
movie
is
based
off
of,
My
Sisters
Keeper.
Id
like
to
compare
and
contrast
your
film
and
the
book
it
is
based
off
of.
I
noticed
that
in
the
book,
there
are
many
similarities
and
differences.
For
starters,
the
setting
is
in
Rode
Island,
but
the
movie
says
it
takes
place
in
California.
I
noticed
that
Julia
Romano
is
very
reserved
in
the
movie.
In
the
book
she
is
Annas
advisory
and
has
an
affair
with
Campbell,
which
is
much
different.
The
two
characters
Anna
and
Campbells
relationship
is
not
strongly
expressed
in
the
movie,
but
in
the
book
Campbell
is
one
of
the
main
characters
and
there
is
more
to
his
and
Annas
relationship
than
a
lawsuit.
He
actually
cares
about
Anna
and
wants
to
help
her
because
he
believes
that
her
rights
are
being
violated.
I
dont
mind
that
this
wasnt
expressed
in
the
book
because
there
are
so
many
things
that
are
more
important
that
replace
this
that
are
in
the
movie.
There
are
many
small
differences
in
the
book
and
the
movie
that
actually
affect
the
outcome
of
the
stories
a
lot.
In
the
movie
Sara
played
by
Cameron
Diaz
is
blonde,
but
it
says
she
is
brunette
in
the
book.
I
dont
mind
the
difference
but
I
did
notice
this.
Also,
in
the
book
Anna
plays
soccer,
and
in
the
movie
she
plays
hockey.
Also,
all
the
childrens
ages
were
reduced
in
the
movie.
Maybe
it
was
so
show
innocence
but
I
believe
the
book
was
trying
to
show
that
they
are
all
young
adults
trying
to
deal
with
a
real
life
problem
on
their
own.
A
huge
difference
I
noticed
that
practically
changed
my
perspective
of
the
book
and
the
movie
is
Kate
dies
in
the
film
from
cancer
and
Anna
doesnt
donate
her
kidney;
however,
in
the
novel
Anna
dies
from
a
car
crash
and
becomes
brain
dead,
and
Kate
takes
Annas
kidney
with
permission
from
Annas
lawyer
Campbell
in
order
to
survive.
Even
the
smallest
differences
completely
changed
these
characters
into
people
they
werent
before.
I
enjoyed
the
movie
so
much,
as
well
as
the
book,
but
I
do
find
it
confusing
why
it
was
changed
so
much.
I
am
very
interested
to
know.
Sincerely,
Sabina
