Instruction: We live in a world where being different is considered the same as being lesser. I
want everyone in this class to solemnly and critically fill out this handout to determine how
bullying affects you.

1. What is bullying? What does it look today? What about this novel? What about in
the past? Can you think of any examples from you Social Studies class that relate to
bullying?

2. Describe a time where you or someone you know was bullied. If you are willing
please share about a time you were a bully?

3. What did you feel during that incident? How has it affected you as a young adult?

4. What were the consequences of this incident, were there any? What did you learn
from this incident?

5. How is bullying represented in Lord of the Flies? What are the consequences of
bullying in the novel?
