touch. The day that we left we went by my grandmother's house, her house is in the city witch is
an lrour drive fi'om where we lived. She was crying ar-rd my mom was tog, I was very excited so I

didn't even have time to cry. So my dad drove from Mexico,"pl-\,Ltnt"Y. were driving we stop
at night for my dad to rest and get Lrp very early in the morning. I was enjoying the trip because

everything was new. In my town there was really nothing to look at, but on our way here I
thought that even the signs were interesting, I guess it was just because it was something new to
me. So the second day that we were driving, it was pouring, I kind of got scare because at my

little town it didn't really rain a lot, or if it rain it would be light rain. I told my dad that what was
happening why it was raining like that he said not to worry that it was raining season, that over
here they had more rain and it would only be fore couple of hours and then it would stop. My dad
said to enjoy the ride that we were almost getting to the place where we were going to

time to go register me to go to school. So I was getting

everything together, it was almost time to start school. I was excited to star because I thought that
every wanted to be my friends because at my little town everybody rvas my friend. So I got my

things ready for my first day, but school was very different no uniform and everyone looked at
me like I was fiom another planet, here kids were not very friendly, I then started to not like the

new place I wanted to go back to my small town. I ask my parents to go back, but my parents said
that we were going to stay and live here.

The years went by and I was sixteen. I wanted to go out r,vith friends, and my mother said

that I could not go out with them because slie didn't know what type of people or didn't know
their farnily, she saiclthat back in our little town she knew the r"op," and that if we were back
home she would let me go out. I stafted to hate this place even though my parents talk about how
the U.S gave us better opportunities to have a better life I was hating living in the U.S I ask them
one more time to go back to Mexico but they said no that I was almost done with high school and

that I had to go to college. The only things that I was allowed to do was to go to school, work and
