numberofseriousproblems.BelowIwillshowthemainproblemsthissituationcausesandsuggest
possiblesolutions.
Unfortunatly[Unfortunately]itisnotunusualforlargedogstobeownedbypeoplethat[whose]
homesandlifestylescannotofferwhattheirpetneeds.Thefirstrequirementforalargedogisplenty
ofspace.Notonlyaremanydogskeptintinyyards,butsomeownersevenkeeptheirdogsincity
flatswithonlysmallbalconiesforthemtomoveabouton.Asecondbasicrequirements[requirement]
isthatthedoggetsplentyofexercise.Again,ownersoftenneglectthisneedbecausetheydonthave
timetotaketheirdogsoutforwalks.Theyre[Their]workandfamilycommitmentsmeanthatthedog
stayscoopedupinsidefordaysatatime.Clearly,moderncitylifestylesareincompatiblewiththe
needsofalargedog.
Thissituationgivesrisetoanumberofproblems,bothforthedogsandotherpeople.Firstly[First]of

peoplefromtoown[owning]largedogsiftheyliveincityflats.Asecondmeasureistoimposefines
onownerswhosedogsareseentobesuffering,orwhocauseunacceptabledisturbanceinthe
neighbourhood.Finally,thereneedtobepublicitycampaignswhicheducatethepublicinhowtobe
responsiblepetowners.
