Reflection

On September 04, 2014, I had my first day of the course Educational Technology. I had
no idea what the course was about, however, at the end of the first day I thought oh well,
another course in which I will have to read for my degree, because I was told to read about
ISTE and TIM. By September 18, the course seemed to have been transformed and I became
quite interested because I was introduced to Microsoft tools at Pil Network. Things got even
better when I was given a tablet computer with internet access through the instrumentality of
Mrs. McFarlane and Ms. Campbel, by the government and in particular, the Ministry of Science,
Technology, Energy and Mining. This wonderful initiative boost my drive in wanting to explore
the web tools I came across because the internet was now present at the house that I was staying.
As the weeks went by, the course became more interesting as I began to create my own
Jeopardy game as a culminating activity for a lesson that I designed. Even though I felt uncertain
at the beginning of the course, as the weeks went by my excitement grew and I began to
manipulate my computer, tablet and even my phone in order to utilize the apps and web tools
that were available to me. As a result of doing a course work piece for Educational Technology, I
have even managed to create my own website. Unbelievable! Me, creating my own website? Yes
I did, and it was all due to me doing this wonderful course called Educational Technology. If I
should ever be given a course of this nature in the future, I would waste no time in wondering if
it will be boring. I would instead make full use of every opportunity and pay the keenest
attention to the instructions that my lecturer shares which will enable me to learn about the
different web tools and apps that can be employed to aid me in the teaching and learning process.
It is indeed my intention to master the use of these tools in order to integrate technology in my
classroom beginning 2015, when we will be sent on our teaching practice exercise.
