Nikon Batch Slide Scanner

The Nikon Super CoolScan 5000 can scan 35mm film slide negatives or
positives easily and with very high quality. With the SF-210 Batch Slide
Scanner attachment, scanning multiple slides can be done quickly and
efficiently.

Loading The Scanner

1. Turn the scanner on


2. Lift plastic cover
3. Load slides
a. Slides should go on the track closest to you
b. Slides should all be loaded landscape style facing the white loading
track. (facing left)
c. Manipulate the adjuster wheel on the right side of the device so that the
end of the metal divider is about halfway through your second slide

Scanning

1. Open Nikon Scan 4 from the Dock.


2. Locate the Tool Palette (usually on the right side)
3. Select Crop
4. Under Scale, select 50.00% (NOTE: Skip this step
if doing serious photo editing or archiving)
5. In the menu bar, select Scanner and then Slide
Feeder
6. Enter the number of slides you want to scan.
Tip: Enter 2 or 3 more than you have in case
the scanner skips some.
7. Click OK
8. Input a file naming prefix and/or suffix.
9. Choose a saving location somewhere on your zDisk profile.
10. Under file type choose:
a.JPEG with the compression at High Quality for files around 1MB each for
use with Powerpoint presentations,  word processing or internet
uploading.
b.TIFF with no compression for the highest quality images around 80MB
each - for use with photo editing programs or photo archiving.

Press OK to start the scanning process.


 
NOTE: You may need to monitor the scanning process if your slides are
damaged or of irregular sizes as the scanner might jam.
