New highs for the S&P 500, Russell 2000 and Dow Utilities on Monday! The S&P 500 set an all-time high at
2093.55 with semiannual, monthly, quarterly and weekly pivots / risky levels at 2080.3, 2089.3, 2094.6 and 2099.5,
respectively. The Russell 2000 and Dow Utilities set all-time high at 1220.81 and 645.94, respectively.
The Major Equity Averages Ended Last Week Above Their Five-Week Modified Moving Averages At, 17642
Dow Industrials, 2044.9 S&P 500, 4703 Nasdaq, 8964 Dow Transports and 1175.88 Russell 2000. All major
averages remain overbought so this technical configuration is technically positive but overbought.
To signal a potential technical correction there needs to be weekly closes below all five-week modified moving
averages with the 12x3x3 weekly slow stochastic readings declining below 8.0.
Dow Industrials: (18038) Semiannual and annual value levels are 16301 and 14835 with the Dec. 26 all-time
intraday high at 18103.45, a quarterly pivot at 18045 and weekly and semiannual risky levels at 18166 and 18522.
S&P 500 (2090.6) Semiannual and annual value levels are 1789.3 and 1539.1 with the Dec. 29 all-time intraday
high at 2093.55, monthly, quarterly and semiannual pivots at 2089.3 and 2080.3 and quarterly and weekly risky
levels at 2094.2 and 2099.5.
NASDAQ (4807) Semiannual and annual value levels are 3972 and 3471 with semiannual, quarterly and monthly
pivots at 4642, 4713 and 4784, the Dec.26 multiyear high at 4814.95, and weekly risky level at 4845.
Dow Transports (9217) Semiannual and annual value levels are 8447, 7423, 6249 and 5935 with the Nov. 28 alltime intraday high at 9319.33 and monthly, weekly and quarterly risky levels at 9343, 9396 and 9418.
Russell 2000 (1219.11) Weekly, semiannual and monthly value levels are 1194.05, 1139.81 and 1131.49 with the
Dec.29 all-time intraday high at 1220.81 and semiannual and quarterly risky levels at 1285.37 and 1292.59.
The SOX (695.08) Semiannual and annual value levels are 608.02, 512.94, 371.58 and 337.74 with monthly and
quarterly pivots at 683.28 and 687.85, the Dec.8 multiyear intraday high at 704.44 and weekly risky level at 711.64.
Dow Utilities: (643.33) Quarterly and annual value levels are 553.35 and 548.70 with monthly, semiannual and
weekly pivots at 606.94, 612.49 and 617.25, and the Dec. 29 all-time intraday high at 645.74.
10-Year Note (2.209%) An annual pivot is 2.263% with weekly and monthly pivots at 2.154% and 2.121%, and
semiannual and annual risky levels at 1.999% and 1.779%.
30-Year Bond (2.774%) Semiannual and annual value levels are 3.082% and 3.107% with a monthly pivot at
2.808% and weekly and semiannual risky levels at 2.739% and 2.487%.
Comex Gold ($1184.5) A quarterly value level is $906.43 with a monthly pivot at $1195.3 and weekly, semiannual
risky levels at $1212.4 and $1613.0. Notice how the monthly pivot has been a magnet.
Nymex Crude Oil ($53.69) A weekly value level is $50.46 with the Jan. 2009 low at $33.20 when a gallon of
regular gasoline dipped below $1.50. A monthly pivot is $78.19 with the 200-week simple moving average at $95.09.
The Euro (1.2149) A weekly value level is 1.2026 with a semiannual pivot at 1.2203, a monthly pivot at 1.2389,
and the 200-week simple moving average at 1.3322.
The Dollar versus Japanese Yen (120.64) A monthly value level is 112.69 with quarterly and weekly risky levels
at 123.64 and 129.14.
The British Pound (1.5510) Weekly and annual value levels are 1.5214 and 1.4456 with a semiannual pivot at
1.5604, and monthly, quarterly and annual risky levels at 1.6147, 1.6210 and 1.6262.
