Configuration of Comtrend Router for Biz-DSL with Routed

(IPoA) mode.

Subs LAN IP

- 192.168.4.1

Subnet Mask

- 255.255.255.0

Subs WAN IP block

- 172.17.212.160/30

SLT Side

- 172.17.212.161

Customer side

- 172.17.212.162

WAN subnet mask

- 255.255.255.252

Set the PC network card IP settings as,

Log on to the Router Configuration page by typing 192.168.1.1 on

Adddress bar. Router Logging User Name is root and password is
12345

Router Configuration page appears as,

Go to Advanced Setup ---- WAN

Press ADD to create a new connection.

Enter the VPI and VCI values as 8 & 35 , Service Category as UBR
WITHOUT PCR, and click on NEXT. Now appears as follows,

Select the Protocol as IP over ATM (IPoA) and Encapsulation as

LLC/SNAP-ROUTING, click on NEXT.
Enter the WAN IP Address as 172.17.212.162
WAN Subnet Mask as 255.255.255.252
Select Use the following Default Gateway
Select Use IP Address and give the SLT side WAN IP Address
172.17.21.161.

Then click Next and appears as ,

Check whether the Enable WAN Service is selected. Then click Next.

Click on SAVE to make the settings permanent.

Now press on SAVE/REBOOT and router will restart automatically.

Now go to Advanced Setup -- LAN

Then press Apply.

and put the required LAN IP.

Check for DSL signal Synchronization.

Now Ping the WAN IPs in Command prompt to check the VPN connectivity.
Eg.

Ping 192.168.4.1

(Router IP)

Ping 172.17.212.162

(Customer Side WAN IP)

Ping 172.17.212.161

(SLT Side WAN IP)

Both WAN IPs are reachable if the circuit is working properly.
