Please note that the user must use Adobe Acrobat/Reader version 6.0 or higher: Adobe continually updates Adobe Reader and
makes it available to the public free of charge. In the past, our CDs have contained a detailed help file as a reference. The detailed
instructions that were on the CDs may not have been applicable to the version of Adobe Reader you have installed on your PC. Therefore,
these CDs now contain a shorter help file with some basic instructions and supply a link to the Adobe Web site (where the user can obtain
an upgraded version of Adobe Reader). For specific instructions, it is best to access the help menu in the version of Adobe Reader that
is being used.

To View Articles
To use this CD-ROM, we recommend that you download the latest version of Adobe Reader. This software is free of charge
from the Adobe Web site: http://www.adobe.com.
For specific instructions on how to use your version of Adobe Reader, please consult the Adobe Reader Guide in the help
menu.

Search Function
You can use the search function to locate information anywhere on this CD, simply by typing a keyword or phrase.
For newer versions of Adobe Reader, you must set your search to Look in in the index file: seg.pdx.
You may use the Boolean commands AND and OR for more advanced searches in all versions of Adobe Reader.
Boolean examples:
AND

This command requires that all terms must be present in the listed results:
apples AND oranges

OR

lists all articles containing both of these terms.

This command allows any of the specified terms to be present in the listed results:
oranges OR bananas

lists all articles containing oranges as well as all articles containing bananas.

You may use wild card commands in Adobe older versions.

Wild card examples:
*

An asterisk stands for a string of zero, one, or more characters:

mac*
*nym

matches words that begin with mac, such as Macintosh, macaroni, and machine.
matches words that end with nym, such as antonym, homonym, and synonym.

A question mark stands for any one character:

?ight
555-????

matches only five-letter words that end with ight, such as light, fight, right, and sight.
matches all seven-digit phone numbers starting with the 555- prefix.
