PERSONAL ARTIFACTS

LOLA (MY CAT)

My cat represents me because she represents my love for animals
(especially cats). My cat Lola literally follows me around the house
24/7, sleeps with me every night, and every time I leave the house
my parents say she sits at the door and cries. I couldnt leave my
cat out of a list of things that represents me. Everyone who knows
me knows my cat is a big part of my life.

CLASH OF CLANS
Absolutely hate this game for taking over my life, but
I cant stop. Since the game isnt actually something
physical, I guess you can consider my phone the
object here. The picture here is of my base (for all of
you who play). My Clan name for anyone who wants to
join is, FHRITP. This game represents me because it
takes up a lot of my time, and my name in the game,
Los Pollos has become my nickname among friends
now, and also about 20 of my friends are in my clan
so it is a ver y social thing.

OFSAA GOLD MEDAL

Two years ago (2012) my xc running team somehow went from
not even being mentioned on the starting line as a contender for
a top 8 finish, to winning the race. A few of my friends and I took
up running 4/5 years ago and it has became our life. This medal
represents our dedication to the sport since the beginning. Being
a dedicated runner means living it everyday. Running has
shaped my everyday life in many ways. I eat sleep and train
every day with running in mind. Two years later (earlier this
month) we won it again.

PRISONER OF
TEHRAN
I havent even finished the book yet, but I love it. The
book is about a woman from Iran who was sent to an
infamous Iranian prison in Tehran af ter the revolution in
the late 70s. While in prison the woman was fir st almost
shot to death, and then faced with tor ture, all because
she opposed the Islamic revolution. Her and many other
people were subject to unfair detainment and treatment
in Iran at the time. This book represents me because it is
about a world issue that really matters to me. I plan on
dedicating my life to promoting human rights as I have
found this is something I really care about. When I see
people hur t for no reason, it really gets to me. This book
represents one of the man worldly issues I plan on
engaging myself in my lifetime.

ODD SWEATERS
Ever yone who knows me (and as soon as anyone meets
me) knows that I dont dress ver y much like ever yone
else. I shop at Value Village a lot. My preferred style if
cool sweaters that I find there, and either pajamas,
sweatpants, or jeans. It may not sound ver y unique, but
walking through the halls of my school ever yone knows
me by what I wear. These sweater s ver y much represent
who I am.

RUNNING SHORTS
The medal I posted earlier represented my
dedication to the spor t of running, but this picture
represents my love for the spor t. Running really
did change my life. Not that I was a bad per son
before I discovered running, but it taught me how
to work hard, and set me on my life path. Even if I
were to quit running tomorrow, I would owe my
life to it.

MACKLEMORE POSTER
For probably 4 year s I was in a band that played locally. We
were only 1 2 when we star ted, but in our time together we
managed to record a CD, make a lot of money (for 1 2 year
olds), and play some pretty big venues from Pembroke to
Madawaska. If I werent so into running and into studying,
right now I would be spending my time learning how to
produce music, as it is my hidden passion. Macklemore
represents this because he is one of my favorite ar tists.

PODIUM
This picture is of a podium. Apparently the thing you
stand behind and put your notes on is actually called
a lectern, but we are going to call it a podium. I love
speaking in front of crowds. One time while
volunteering at an event called We Day, my
volunteer group of about 40 was asked to share
something about the per son next to them (we had just
shared stories). Out of the 40 strangers I was the only
one brave enough to raise my hand and share. I hope
to be a great leader in what ever it is I end up
dedicating my life to, and speaking in front of crowds
is something I plan to do.

ROSETTA STONE
This picture is of the language learning tool Rosetta
Stone. Although I dont use Rosetta Stone (I use Duolingo
a free app), it represents my interest in learning new
languages. I dropped out of French class af ter grade 9,
huge mistake. Now that I am 1 8 and only know English, I
really wish that I was bilingual. Currently I am learning
French, German, and Japanese. I am learning these
languages slowly and will be in no way fluent until I take it
on more seriously, but for now I am having fun just
learning new words and under standing how dif ferent
language systems work . It gives you a whole new
per spective on things.
