NOTICE

The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, in coordination with The Environment Agency and the
Center for Waste Management Abu Dhabi, urges all contractors and consultancy offices
operating in the building & infrastructure sector to continually ensure the cleanliness of
building, construction and demolition sites till the completion of the respective projects in
order to maintain the public sanitation & safety, protect the environment and uphold the
civilized appearance of the capital city and metropolis, as provided for in the relevant local &
federal rules in place.
Specifically, the Municipality calls on these parties to observe the following requirements at
worksites:
1. Designate a suitable & temporary point for the assembly of building & construction
waste & debris.
2. Move all building & construction waste & debris to the place designated by the
Centre for Waste Management - Abu Dhabi by:

Using the machinery of the registered company as approved by the Center for
Waste Management - Abu Dhabi.

Contracting with a registered environmental service provider approved by the
Center for Waste Management - Abu Dhabi.
3. Refrain from dumping any building & construction waste & debris at the
construction site.
4. Avoid discharging any liquid wastes resulting from building, construction or
demolition processes to land or marine habitats.
5. Leave the site after the completion of the project clean and free from building &
construction waste, and remove all equipment of the construction company from
the site.
The Municipality stresses that all legal & administrative procedures applicable in this regard
will be enforced against violators of environment conservation at building, construction &
demolition sites, and order them to pay all costs of removing, cleaning and repairing the
damage resulting from such offences.
