the fundamental concepts involving analysis, design, and fabrication of a variety of electrical and
electronic systems.
The demand for electrical engineers continues to grow as our world becomes more and more
complex.GraduatesoftheUniversityofAlbertasElectricalEngineeringprogramcanexpecttofinda
career in a wide range of fields, including power generation, transmission, and distribution;
telecommunications; circuit design; computer hardware design; signal processing; biomedical
research; and nanoelectric device design, just to name a few. Many students also go on to graduate
studies in more specific areas of electrical engineering.

Opened in 1908 as a board-governed institution, the University of Alberta is one of the top 100

The university can accommodate 4,239 students in dormitory-style residences, apartments and
houses in Edmonton. Spaces vary from single and double occupancy to shared apartments and
houses, and are available for full-time undergraduate and graduate students. Augustana campus can
accommodate students in dormitory-style residences. Due to the high demand and guaranteed
housing policies, each University of Alberta residence has student group preferences (i.e. scholarship
winners). Also, preference is given to students who live outside the greater Edmonton area..
