2014 EDUCATION WEEK CELEBRATION

Department of Education designated every second week of December as
Education Week. This years nationwide celebration started on December 8 up to
December 12. Celebration focused on the theme Choice, Change and Community: The
Endless Possibilities of the K to 12 Basic Education Program. Through this internal and
external stakeholders will able to know, realize and take part of the responsibilities in the
achievement and improvement of schools academic performance.
The celebration was done in Bayudbud Elementary School focusing only on
the suited and applicable activities to the pupils. Since on December 8, typhoon Ruby hit the
CALABARZON area, so the simultaneous flag raising and opening ceremony was not done,
instead the activity was conducted on December 10.
During the opening ceremony, the school head discussed the status of the
K to 12 implementation in the school. Then the guidance teacher oriented the pupils on
what is going to happen on the week celebration. She gave the schedule on the academic
and co curricular contests, lectures on disaster risk reduction and pre Christmas gift giving.
Each HRPTA was given assignment in the maintenance of cleanliness of campus as conduct
of Brigada Eskwela.
Active participation of stakeholders was felt and seen in school on the
entire week celebration. Activities were done according to schedule and during their hours.
Thus, celebration was done and the objective of the department was instilled in the mind of
the schools internal and external stakeholders.
