With soil scientist Doug Keyes you will learn
about soil texture and find out What is loam
anyway? Discover the basics about
fertilizers and plant nutrients, organic matter
and soil pH. So many fertilizers to choose
from! How do you know which one is best
for your situation? Ask about your particular
soil problem: hard, dry, salty, and
nothing-will-grow soil. How can it be fixed?
Get your hands a bit dirty and take home at
least one great idea to try out.
Whats New in the Garden for 2015:
With 35 years in the nursery and
greenhouse industry Todd McClean has lots
of experience with new plants and products
that will help you grow a great garden.
A Day in the Life of an Arborist: Sam
Barry is a trained as an arborist at Olds
College. Well get a view of what an
arborist does and learn how we can take
good care of our trees. Pick up some tips on
assessing tree health, the particular challenges of pruning poplars, and how to
extend the life of our favourite old trees.
