Explain why many employees resolve business issues by simply

following the directives of a supervisor?

Obedience to authority explain why many employees resolve business issues by

simply following the directives of a supervisor. In organization that emphasize
respect for superiors, for example, employees may feel that they are expected to
carry out orders by a superior even if those orders are contrary to the employees
sense of right and wrong. But problem arise when the decision employees made
have been wrong. In this situation the burden has to bear by the superior
him/herself, as the employees were carrying just the order. The bigger the
company the more potential for unethical activities. Because the noise in
communication reduce the directives and the damage burden becomes very high.
Culture can play an important role in developing ethical environment in an
organization. As suggested by the book. The more ethical employees perceive an
organization culture to be, the less likely they are to make unethical decisions.
Leaders have the power to motivate others and enforce the organization to
ethical decision makings. They have the ability to guide and direct others toward
achievement of Goals and objectives. They have significant impact on ethical
decision making because leaders have the power to motivate and employees are
likely to be motivated and practice ethics in work environment.
