The Warhammer Fantasy Battles 8th Edition Rules and all relevant Games Workshop Errata and FAQs will be
used. All current, standard issue Game Workshop army books are allowed. Any book issued less than 30 days
before the beginning of the event will not be allowed; the prior edition must be used. For Chaos Dwarfs, the Forge
World Chaos Dwarf list will be used. THE END TIMES BOOKS WILL NOT BE USED.
Army Lists
Each player must create a valid 2500 point army. That is the army that must be played for the entire tournament
without modification.
Each player must provide three (3) PRINTED, not handwritten, army lists, one for their opponents, one to be
turned in at registration and one for their own reference. All points, stats, and items MUST be present on each army
list and each unit entry.
This will be an open list environment and you must provide your opponent with your army list upon request.
If your army contains Wizards, the Lore that each Wizard uses must be declared in their entry on the army list.
If an item grants you knowledge of a spell from a Lore that you may pick you must declare that on your army list as
well. In the case of Grey Seers, you must declare how many spells that they will use from either Skaven Lore.
Models
Non-GW models are allowed as long as they are a clear representation of the model/unit they are replacing. Proxies,
as opposed to models clearly converted for counts as purposes, are strongly discouraged but may be allowed if
approved by the tournament organizers before the event. For all units, a majority of the models should have
equipment (spears, halberds, shields, etc.) that is representative of the unit in your army list. In every case, make
sure to clarify anything ambiguous with your opponent before each game. Few exceptions will be allowed and
violations will result in deductions to sportsmanship scores.
Terrain
Building rules are in effect per the main rulebook. Terrain is fixed. If the terrain moves please return it to its
approximate location after the game. All forests are counted as Mysterious Forests. Any rivers are counted as
Mysterious Rivers. Where terrain is ambiguous as to classification, note cards will be provided. Players are
encouraged to discuss and agree upon each terrain features classification before deployment.
Timing
Each game will be completed in 2.5 hours. Players may not begin a new round if they have less than 15 minutes
remaining or if both player turns cannot be reasonably finished in the remaining time.
Getting the by
If a by is necessary, it must be given to the player with the lowest battle score (randomized if tied).
Awards
Players can score Battle, Army, Composition, and Sportsman points. Available awards include Best Overall, Best
General, Best in Show, and Best Sportsman. There are 200 points possible. See the following sections for
breakdowns and details.

Battle Scoring
(120 points possible)
Points scored under battle scoring are used to determine Best General and Best Overall.
Battle points are scored from both the Victory Points and Objectives which are detailed below.
Victory Points
At the end of a game, count up how many victory points each player earned as per basic
rulebook. The player who earned more victory points is Victorious; the other is Defeated. Take
the difference of each players victory points earned and consult the table below for the number
of points scored by each player.

Note the number of points scored on the Result Sheet provided.

Objectives
At the end of a game, consult the scenario used for the round. That scenario will outline certain
conditions under which players can score additional points. No player may score more than 6
points from objectives per game.
Note any objective points scored on the Result Sheet
provided.
Concession, surrender, forfeit, etc
Upon a players good faith forfeiture they shall score 8 points while his or her opponent shall
score 18 points from Victory points and 6 from Objectives regardless of results. Forfeits are
only permitted with both players consent and may not be made before the fifth turn of the game.
Getting the by
If a player is given a by round, they score the average amount of battle points scored by the
victors of that round. Their strength of schedule that round is 0.
Tiebreaker for Best General and Best Overall
The greater strength of schedule: the summation of all opponents battle points scored.

Army Scoring
(30 points possible)
Points scored under army scoring are used to determine Best in Show and Best Overall.
Army points are scored from both the Rubric and Players Choice which are detailed below.
Rubric
A player scores the points indicated for each of the following conditions met by their army. No
player may score more than 24 points from this rubric.
Under construction. 6 points.
The army is fully constructed. Models are only missing pieces to facilitate painting but
still clearly represent the unit they're supposed to be. Mold lines and flash have been
removed. Cracks are filled. The units have appropriate movement trays.
Tournament ready. 6 points.
As above and the army has been painted to a minimum 3 color standard, primer may still
be visible. The paint scheme is roughly coherent. Bases are consistently flocked or
otherwise covered but not painted or detailed. Models in the army are WYSIWYG.
Above and beyond. 6 points.
As above and there has been obvious effort put into detailing the army beyond the 3 color
standard. The paint scheme is consistent throughout the army. The bases have multiple
flocks or are painted and show clean edges. Models are shaded and highlighted.
Movement trays are flocked or painted to match the army.
Showing off. 2 points each. Only available if the army is tournament ready.
- The army shows some difficult conversion work beyond kit bashing
- The army is presented on a scenic display board which matches the army
- The army has an obvious and unique theme
- The army exhibits some fine detail and freehand work
- The armys bases are finely detailed and scenic
- The army exhibits seamless blending
A judge will inspect each army during the event and inform the owner of their score.
Players Choice
Before first round pairings are decided, all participants must vote for the best looking army.
Votes are cast in secret. The army with the most votes received scores 6 points; second place
scores 4 points; third place scores 2 points. In case of a tie, the army which met more conditions
on the Rubric wins and failing that, a final popular vote will be held. The results of the Players
Choice are withheld until after the final round.

Composition Scoring
(30 points possible)
Points scored under composition scoring are used to determine Best Overall. Composition
points are scored from both the Rubric and Players Choice which are detailed below.
Rubric
It is not necessary for players to read or understand the Swedish Comp System nor to calculate
their own armys score. We would strongly recommend this, however. Judges will calculate an
armys score or not if its obvious and assign one of the following comp levels to the army:
Baby Seal. 20 points. Swedish Comp Score more than 14
The army is clearly fluffy and units/models are taken more for fun than merit. The army
is likely heavily themed but not necessarily so.
Run of the Mill. 10 points. Swedish Comp Score of 8 to 14
The army seems solid and competitive but not exploitative or abusive. It is still
representative of the army and some choices are made for fun over merit. A baby seal
army would struggle against this list given generals of equal skill.
Filth. 0 Points. Swedish Comp Score of less than 8
The army is clearly built and optimized to win. Choices are based on a units merit in
connection with the rest of the army than any thoughts of theme, fun, or aesthetic. A
baby seal army would struggle against this list regardless of the generals skill.
If a judge forgoes calculating an armys score the player may appeal their assignment. If he does
so, the judge must calculate the score and make any adjustment as necessary based on the score.
Players Choice
After the close of the final round, all players must pick the fluffiest army list they played
against on Result Sheet 5, provided. A player scores 2 points each time their army list is picked
as fluffiest.
Getting the by
If a player is given a by round, and their army is not Filth, he or she counts as being picked for
fluffiest army that round, scoring 2 points. If the list is Filth, they are not picked as fluffiest.
First round pairings
First round pairings will be randomly based against other armies in your composition category if
it is feasible for judges to make appropriate assignments before the first round.

Sportsmanship Scoring
(20 points possible)
Points scored under Sportsmanship Scoring are used to determine Best Sportsman and Best
Overall. Sportsmanship points are scored from both the Assessment and Players Choice which
are detailed below.
Assessment
After each game, on the Result Sheet, players must mark three statements about their opponent
either true or false. A player scores 1 point for each statement which is marked true about them.
A player may not score more than 12 points from the Assessment.
-

My opponent answered my questions and settled rule disputes reasonably.

My opponent showed up on time. He or she played the game in timely manner.
I would happily play this opponent again.

Players Choice
After the close of the final round, all players must pick their favorite opponent on Result Sheet 5,
provided. A player scores 1 point each time they are picked as a favorite opponent. If a player
was picked as favorite opponent by all their opponents, that player scores 3 additional points.
Getting the by
If a player is given a by round, he or she counts as having all true statements marked and
receives 3 points. The player counts as being picked as favorite opponent that round, scoring 1
more point.
Tiebreaker for Best Sportsman
The greater total number of statements on Assessment marked true.
Rules and Regulations
Players are expected to abide by the Dark Side Comics & Games Rules and Regulations. These
rules can be found posted throughout the store. If you are ejected from the store for any reason
you will also be disqualified from this tournament.
