BIOGRAPHY
Christopher Nolan was born on
July 30, 1970 in London,
England.
He studied English Literature at
University College London
(U.C.L) and joined the
universitys film society.
At the age of 7, he began
making short videos with his
father's Super-8 camera.

HIS WORK
Having made his film debut with Following;
a film about a lonely writer who's obsessed
with following strangers, he gained enough
credibility and funding to do his next film,
Memento.
He has also directed 7 other films including;
The Prestige, The Dark Knight trilogy,
Insomnia, Inception and his latest film
Interstellar

COLLABORATORS
Emma Thomas: His wife, co-produced
all of his films.
Johnathan Nolan: He regularly works
with his brother who is a screenwriter
for most of his films.
Hans Zimmer: Composed scores for
most of Nolans films since Batman
Begins.
Wally Pfister: Cinematographer for
most of Nolans films .

INFLUENCES
Christopher Nolan stated that most of his
films are heavily influenced by film noir.
(Memento, Following or Insomnia)
He is also heavily influenced by Stanley
Kubrick (In terms of directing and
storytelling)
Nolan has also stated that Fritz Lang,
Orson Welles and Ridley Scott are among
his major influences as well.

Christopher Nolan's films explore unique themes
such as distortion of memory, human morality
and the nature of time.
