Subject: Animal Welfare Fortnight begins from January 14-30, 2015.
Greetings,
Please find attached here with the details about said event, which is self explanatory, read with
the letter issued by the Urban and Local Bodies about training, to all members of the District
Committee, during Faridabad training, I came to know that local bodies along with the Panchyati
raaj Institutions, disobey the orders passed by the Honble Supreme Court of India, where as all
concerned officials are not interested to perform their official duties, hence it is advised to direct
all concerned, to prepare complete list of illegal slaughter houses, where more than 10 animals
and birds are being slaughtered, violating the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Slaughter
Houses) Rules, 2001 read with the guidelines issued by the FSSAI on dated November 14, 2014.
It is also expected that training programme, would also be processed and scheduled.
Please depute Duty Magistrate, to crack down the illegal slaughter houses, during animal welfare
fortnight January 14-30, 2015. It is proposed that the performances may kindly be informed, to
the State Committee for Slaughter Houses, via video conferencing, for best coordination, which
will be appreciated; it is further advised that performances may kindly be reviewed, during
monthly meetings.
