Prerequisites
Before loading the provided BMC Remedy IT Service
Management (BMC ITSM) data, make sure that you have the
following prerequistes:
-BMC ITSM 7.6.00
-BMC Remedy Developer Studio
-Data Management Tool
-Microsoft Excel
-the data files that came with this card

Data Load Quick Reference

When the conversion is complete, click Import CSV and enter the required parameters,
such as the Data Import Tool path, then click Start.

Set up

1. Download the data package from BMC DN.


2. Make sure that the Data Management Client spreadsheets folder for
ITSM 7.6, installed by the Data Management Tool, is clean (empty) if you
have installed prior workbook data.
3. Copy the workbooks from this Solution Data package (which you
downloaded from the BMC Developer Network)to the Data
Management Client spreadsheets directory (such as
C:\Program Files\BMC Software\DataManagementClient).
4. Open the Data Load Console by selecting Application
Administration Console > Custom Configuration > Foundation >
Data Management Tool > Data Load Console
5. Select the Data Load Console and click Open.

Convert the data

1. In the left panel, under Functions, click


Convert CSV Files.
2. At the prompts, enter:
the path to the downloaded data
spreadsheets that came with this package
the path to convert.bat
It may be easier to copy these paths from an Explorer
window rather than navigating to the files from the
ITSM application.
3. Click Start. The data is converted and .csv files
are placed in your Data Management Client
computers CSV folder.

Import the converted data

Validate the data

1. At theSelect the category of data you want to load dropdown, select Foundation.
2. Click Validate to have the application check the data.

Promote
After a successful validation, click Promote.

Repeat
Repeat steps 2-5 for ProcessSetup data and for Transaction data.
